How McDonalds became a billion dollar company
From 1 location to over 40,000 worldwide restaurants.
👋 Hello, this is your weekly dose of inspiration
and practical guidance. Every Friday you will receive a captivating visual timeline that charts the rise of a successful individual + lessons derived from that.
Raymond Albert Kroc was born on 5 October, 1902.
At 13 he opened his first business, a lemonade stand. This was followed by a music store he opened with two friends.
He forged his ID to go to war when he was just 15. This seems to have been the thing to do at that time, as Walt Disney did the same. In fact, that’s how the two met.
Shortly after completing his training, the war ended. This was followed by a period of odd jobs and piano playing, before finally settling in at Lily Tulip Cup Co, selling paper cups.
A decade later, he started selling milkshake multimixers, which is how he found about this restaurant called McDonald’s.
The rest, as we all know, is history.
